Josť Ernesto Marino Neto

After graduating with a Law degree from São Paulo University (USP), José Ernesto Marino Neto followed his instincts and decided to enter the hospitality investment world. On the first day of 1989 he founded BSH International, short for BSH Brasil – Service & Holding Ltda.

His academic life includes a specialization in Business Law, courses in Economics and Leadership with domains in Brazil and Germany, an MBA in Tourism Marketing at USP, a masters in Business Administration at Florida Christian University, in the United States, and PhD at the same institution, to be concluded in 2010.

Marino and his team have participated in hospitality and tourism projects that represent more than US$ 1.5 billion, all of them in Brazil. BSH produced only the marked and viability studies for some of the projects, while on other projects the BSH team completed everything from the basic concept, planning and development to the asset management.

From the beginning, Marino tried to attract new investments to Brazil and in so doing introduced many different groups to the country, such as Sol Meliá Hoteles, from Spain, SuperClubs International, from Jamaica, Howard Johnson and Sonesta International, from the US, and Tivoli, from Portugal.

Marino is a hotel investments professor at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation, he is an emeritus member of the advisory council of NYU Hospitality, Tourism and Sports Center and a visiting professor in many Brazilian and American Universities. He was the first Latin American to be invited as a member of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants – ISHC.

He is frequently invited to speak at important hospitality investments conferences throughout the world, such as the NYU Hospitality Conference, ALIS – Americas Lodging Investment Conference and Barcelona Meeting Point.
